Stephen Ministries

Stephen Ministry at TVC

At Village Church, we believe no one should walk through life’s challenges alone. That’s why we have a team of Stephen Ministers—trained, caring members of our church family who provide one-to-one, confidential, and Christ-centered care to those who are hurting.

Whether someone is facing grief, divorce, job loss, illness, or simply a difficult season, our Stephen Ministers come alongside them with compassion, consistency, and prayer.

What Our Stephen Ministers Do:

  • Listen and Care: They provide a safe, non-judgmental space to talk and be heard—without trying to “fix” everything.

  • Offer Ongoing Support: They walk with individuals over time—often for months—offering steady encouragement and presence.

  • Maintain Confidentiality: Everything shared is kept in strict confidence, creating a trusted environment.

  • Support Through Life Challenges: They care for those experiencing grief, separation or divorce, loneliness, chronic illness, relocation, and more.

  • Pray: They regularly pray for and with those they are caring for.

Our Stephen Ministers are laypeople who have been thoughtfully trained and supported through ongoing supervision. They extend the care of our pastoral team, helping ensure that everyone who needs support receives it.

Stephen Ministry is rooted in the example of serving others with Christ’s love—walking alongside people in their time of need with grace and faith.
