Why "Seeds and Loaves"?

Our name is our mission, and both are rooted in scripture, specifically in John 4:36-38 and John 6.

"Already the one who reaps is receiving wages and gathering fruit for eternal life so that sower and reaper may rejoice together. For here the saying holds true, One sows and another reaps.’ I sent you to reap that for which you did not labor. Others have labored, and you have entered into their labor.”

        John 4:36-38

Our mission, as a ministry, is to plant seeds in the hearts of every child that enters our space; seeds of salvation, so that they may eventually bear the fruit of the spirit. We pray that children would leave knowing just a little bit more about Jesus and feel seen, known, and loved at our events. We know that we may never see the fruit of these seeds, but we also know that it is not up to us.

"Lifting up his eyes, then, and seeing that a large crowd was coming toward him, Jesus said to Philip, 'Where are we to buy bread, so that these people may eat?'  He said this to test him, for He Himself knew what he would do... One of his disciples... said to him, 'There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are they for so many?'... the men sat down, about five thousand in number. Jesus then took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed them to those who were seated. ...And when they had eaten their fill, he told his disciples, 'Gather up the leftover fragments, that nothing may be lost.'"

John 6:5-14

One little boy surrendered what little he had, and Jesus did a miracle with it. We may never know what hangs in the balance of our obedience. It is our prayer that we would continually surrender our loaves and make space for Jesus to move.

We are people caring for people in the Spirit of Jesus Christ.
